Studies demonstrate that calcium aids weight loss. According to nutritionist Kathleen Zelman, MPH, RD, LD, of the WebMD Weight Reduction Clinic, "Really interesting study reveals that getting three servings of dairy daily not only prevents osteoporosis but also enhances weight loss."



She notes, however, that this study has mainly focused on dairy farms. "Protein and calcium seem to work together in harmony. Other calcium-rich meals, such as collard greens, will not help."



In any case, calcium is beneficial to your health. Some of the best sources of calcium include:
